Pope Francis passed away a short time ago at Casa Santa Marta.

The Vatican has confirmed the 88-year-old Holy Father died at 7:35am Rome time.

The world’s 1.4 billion Catholics are mourning the loss of the 266th pontiff who was seen as a simple and humble shepherd who led his flock for 12 years.
Funeral arrangements are yet to be announced.

We pray, that, having served as the Vicar of Christ on earth, he may be welcomed into the eternal glory of heaven.

Requiescat in pace.

WOW! Our wonderful school community raised an incredible $1676.70 for Project Compassion - the most we’ve raised in the past 5 years!

This Lent, we took part in @caritasaust Project Compassion to Unite Against Poverty and make a real difference in the lives of those in need. These funds we raised will help to provide essential resources like clean water, healthcare, and safe shelter to vulnerable communities around the world and empower people to reclaim their lives with dignity, resilience, and hope.

Thank you to everyone who contributed this year. Every dollar we raised truly does create real and lasting change for vulnerable communities around the world.

Students and teachers wore their best green 💚 and gold 💛 today to welcome Olympic Water Polo player, Holly Young, to @sjbfreshie

Holly made herself a promise at age 13 that she’d go to the Olympics, and through her resilience, determination and self-belief, she didn’t just get there...she earned a Bronze medal at London 2012! 🥉

Our curious students were certainly inspired by Holly’s story, asking so many wonderful questions about her training, friendships, motivation and life growing up right here on the Northern Beaches.

Holly is a fantastic example of truly believing in yourself and staying positive, especially when it gets tough. We all took away some valuable life lessons and know you have inspired our kids to dream big-thanks Holly 👏

A little rain didn’t dampen our spirits at Open Day!

A huge thank you to all who came along to our Open Day this morning. We loved meeting you all, and hope you felt welcomed by our wonderful community of students, teachers and parents.

Thank you also to Gabie Stojanovski, Principal at @stpaulscollegemanly for joining us to explain how together, we provide a Kindergarten to Year 12 education through our Pathways program.

Another big thanks go to @47cakes for making our delicious custom cupcakes too. We even overheard a parent say they were ‘the best cupcakes they’ve ever had!’.

And lastly, to our beautiful Year 6 students who led the tours today - you are wonderful examples of the well-rounded, creative thinkers we aim to build here at St John the Baptist Freshwater.
