The main focus of Religious Education at St John the Baptist is to help students develop and enhance their character to build positive relationships with others and to know they can individually make a positive difference as global citizens of the world.
At St John the Baptist, Religious Education is a core part of our curriculum, grounded in the teachings of the Catholic Church and delivered with the same rigour and care as all key learning areas.
Through structured and engaging lessons, students develop a deep understanding of Scripture, Catholic traditions, beliefs and practices. This learning supports students to grow in knowledge of their faith while building their ability to think critically, reflect and make meaningful connections to their lives.
Religious Education at St John the Baptist extends beyond the classroom. We believe that learning about faith is closely connected to living out the Gospel values of compassion, justice and service.
Students are provided with opportunities to put their faith into action caring for others, contributing to their community and developing an awareness of their role in shaping a more just and compassionate world.
Guided by our Catholic tradition, we encourage students to reflect on their choices, respond to the needs of others and develop a strong moral and ethical foundation. Through this, they come to understand how faith can guide their actions and influence the difference they make in the world.
At St John the Baptist, Religious Education supports students to grow not only in knowledge, but in purpose forming young people who are faith-filled, thoughtful and active contributors to their community.
