Parents Engagement

When families and schools work together, children thrive.

At St John the Baptist, we believe that strong partnerships with parents and carers are essential to each child’s success.

We value parents as the first and most important educators of their children and see our role as working alongside families to support both learning and wellbeing. This partnership is built on open communication, mutual respect and a shared commitment to helping every child thrive.

Our school is enriched by a highly engaged and supportive parent community. Many parents, grandparents and parishioners generously give their time, contributing to the life of the school in meaningful ways. Whether in the classroom, at events or behind the scenes, this involvement helps to create the strong sense of connection and belonging that defines St John the Baptist.

There are many opportunities for families to get involved, build relationships and contribute to our community:

  • Parents & Friends Association (P&F)
Our active P&F plays an important role in strengthening community connections and supporting the school. Through a range of social events and initiatives, families have opportunities to connect, and funds raised help enhance learning opportunities for our students.
  • Support for learning
Parents and grandparents are welcomed into classrooms to support learning through small group work and tailored activities, guided by teachers.
  • Community Events and School Life
From sporting events and celebrations to parish gatherings and school activities, parents play an important role in bringing our community to life.
  • Support Roles
Families contribute in a variety of ways including the canteen, library, class coordination and school events, offering both visible and behind-the-scenes support.

At St John the Baptist, parent engagement is more than volunteering, it is about building strong relationships, fostering a sense of belonging and working together to support every child.
